MUSIC EDUCATION
- World Rhythms!
Provides skilled students the opportunity to experience
a variety of World Music traditions, instrument techniques,
rhythms and professional strategies.
Topics may include:
- West Africa Drumming and Dance
- Caribbean drumming
- Brazilian Drumming
Kalani has presented Master Classes and Residencies at Universities across the US and was voted "Best Percussion
Clinician" by the readers of DRUM! Magazine.
- Learning In Rhythm
Designed for those with little drumming skill who may benefit from a rhythm-based curriculum.
Practices may include:
- Individual and group skill building
- Timing, coordination, and temporal awareness
- Group drumming and rhythm circles
- Transfer of learning to areas outside the arts
- Orff Schulwerk Classes
Activities that incorporate a variety of art disciplines and create a holistic learning experience for children and adults. Little experience is needed for these body/mind/spirit courses. - Available as single or multiple classes.
Practices may include:
- Expressive exploration through movement, vocalizing, visual media, and playing instruments.
- Traditional and contemporary music
- Group learning processes
- Process-oriented applications
